The program focuses on providing news not covered by corporate media and offers fair and balanced news of national and international importance. Amy Goodman is recipient of some of the most prestigious awards in journalism, including the George Polk Award, the Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Award, the Robert F. Kennedy Prize for International Reporting, and the IZZY (named after famed independent journalist I. F. Stone). She was a guest on Bill Moyers' PBS TV program in early April, talking about independent and community media and her recent IZZY award.
Gallatin Valley Community Radio has been working to put KLSN FM 90.3 on the air in Bozeman since their award of a construction permit from the Federal Communications Commission. KLSN will be a non-profit, educational radio station in the Gallatin Valley that focuses on local in-depth news, public affairs and public service programming as well as music and cultural affairs. The Gallatin Valley Community Radio Board also intends to affiliate with Pacifica Radio to carry such national programs as Democracy Now! with Amy Goodman.
